There are a couple different scenarios.

You either had current insurance at the time but had no proof (easy fix) or you didn’t have current insurance at all (not so easy fix). The officer either marked your violation as correctable (easy fix) or it is marked as non correctable (not so easy fix).

If you had current insurance at the time AND the officer marked the violation as ‘correctable’ on your ticket then you can easily send in your proof of correction (proof you have current insurance covering the date you received the ticket) along with the required fee to the court to clear the violation.

However if the officer marked the violation as NON correctable you may have to physically appear in court and present your current insurance card before the court will allow the violation to be cleared.
