Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over: Enforcement Continues to Jan 4

This holiday season, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) joins with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign.

The CHP will be ringing in the new year on the roadway with motorists as part of a maximum enforcement period, or MEP, which began at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, and continues through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4.

Existing law forbids you from driving with BAC of 0.08% or more. And, if you plan to drive a “commercial” vehicle (i.e. big rigs, school buses, vehicles carrying hazardous materials, and public transportation vehicles), it’s half the normal legal limit.

If you need to secure or encourage a designated driver check out the free app DDVIP, created by the Office of Transportation and Safety.- blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
