Could Email Traffic Court be the New Trend for 2014 – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
California makes it easy for ticketed drivers to fight a traffic ticket without having to go in to court. It’s called a Trial by Written Declaration. While convenient it still requires preparing and filing the necessary documents with the court. Elsewhere in the country, courts have decided to take it one step further and made it even more convenient to contest a ticket by eliminating the needs for filing documents.
PeninsulaDailyNews.com reported a District Court in Port Angeles, Washington will now make it more convenient for ticketed drivers who wish to fight their ticket. No more waiting in a crowded court room for your name to be called or filing documents with the court, Clallam County, Washington citizens can now fight their ticket via email.
Clallam County District Court Judge Rick Porter will accept emailed statements for mitigating or contesting a civil traffic infraction. The email option is intended to make traffic court more convenient and “accessible for everyone,” Porter said. “We have this tremendous technology, and now we’re going to put it to use so people will not be as inconvenienced,” he added. Porter said he will review the emailed declarations every Monday and decide whether or not to reduce or dismiss the ticket “within a couple of days.”
With no additional costs or fees for the email traffic court it’s a great option for ticketed drivers, with a caveat being there is no ability to appeal an unfavorable decision.- blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
