The average American drives 29.2 miles per day, according to new study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the Urban Institute.

When you drive a lot, no matter how careful you are, it’s really not a matter of if, but when you get a traffic ticket.

A typical moving violation – such as rolling a stop sign – would raise a hypothetical driver’s premium by 32 percent on average in California, according to a study by InsuranceQuotes.com

There is hope though.

As long as you’re ticket is not a misdemeanor, you can use a little known process in the California court system, called Trial by Declaration, to contest your ticket.

You don’t have to miss work to go to court because it’s all done through paperwork. Best of all there’s no traffic school, negative mark on your license, or ticket fine if your ticket gets dismissed.
