LA Courthouse Takes Surprisingly Long to Refund Woman Following Red Light Camera Ticket Dismissal
Drivers caught on camera (red light camera that is) in Beverly Hills paid up hundreds of thousands of dollars in just the first half of 2013, reports NBC.com.
A single red light ticket can easily cost close to $500. Ticketed driver Marcia Moussa of Beverly Hills received a ticket amounting to $489.00. staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud was enlisted to assist Marcia in 2012 with preparing and filing the proper documents to challenge her ticket leading to her ticket dismissal in late 2012. Although the delays imposed by many of the courthouses are not surprising, it is surprising that the court would not have issued Moussa’s refund to date. Moussa rightfully concerned about her missing $489.00 recently appeared on NBC4 to talk about it armed with her documentation showing the dismissal.
The law requires a court to refund the bail deposited by a ticketed driver within 30 days following a dismissal and it’s practically unheard of for a court to take more than 60 days to refund someone’s money (the law also says a deposit of bail ordered to be refunded starts accruing interest after 60 days).
Perhaps due to a clerical error or just overworked staff, somehow Moussa’s refund slipped through the cracks but Moussa has received word she will finally be receiving her refund. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
