Ticket Truths Told by Police Officers Do Excuses Work

Target 7 Albuquerque (koat.com), spoke with local law enforcement to find out what are the ticket truths.

The officers shared excuses they encounter when pulling people over, the most common excuse being “I’m late for work”. Officers also shared uncommon excuses like: trying to get to the liquor store before closing, transmission problems, the Martians are chasing me, and it’s “that time of month”.  While most excuses didn’t work, surprisingly, a woman was able to get out of a ticket by telling Officer Murphy she was speeding because she needed to get home to water and talk to her plants that very instant. He was so shocked by the comment he let her go.

Officers told Target 7 that drivers do get points for creativity, but honesty is always the best policy with police. Both Officers Garcia and Murphy said if you tell the truth and be respectful, chances are you’ll have better luck. “If they’re just flat-out lying to me, and I catch them in a lie, they’re going to get a ticket,” Officer Garcia said.   –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
