Traffic School a Right or a Privilege

Traffic School a Right or a Privilege blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Just like your driver’s license is a privilege, so is traffic school. Traffic school has to be ok’d by the court. You cannot automatically take traffic school for any ticket you receive. There may be a reason the court would exercise its discretion to deny you traffic school, for example if you were speeding over 100 mph or have already taken traffic school once in the past 18 months.

You will also be charged a court fee for opting to take the traffic school route – a fee separate from the cost of actually taking a traffic violator education course.

For those of you who do not wish to contest your ticket, traffic school may be the only way to keep your license. The CA DMV assigns 1 point for most traffic moving violations (1 ½ points for commercial drivers) and you will be considered a “negligent operator” with 4 points in 12 months.   –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
