Traffic Ticket Fines More Than Triple What They Used to be

Traffic Ticket Fines More Than Triple What They Used to be –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

How traffic ticket fees have increased over the years?

The Judicial Council of California released a new traffic fine structure in January 2009. The new traffic fine structure added a $35 assessment to the cost of all traffic tickets. In addition, the fee to process a request to attend traffic school increased from $24 to $49. A “fix-it” ticket used to only be $10 per citation and was increased to $25 per ticket.

CBS Los Angeles.com reported while base fines for traffic offenses have remained relatively steady over the past two decades assessments for emergency medical services, traffic school, and court construction have nearly quadrupled ticket costs since 1993. As fees inch higher, more working-class drivers who are unable to pay up are going to court to challenge tickets, which in turn is clogging up a court system already hampered by layoffs and closures statewide as reported by CBS Los Angeles.com. –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
