Short yellow light? Could be enough to dismiss your red light camera ticket

Short yellow light? Could be enough to dismiss your red light camera ticket. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.  Recently the City of Los Alamitos announced that one of their camera enforced traffic signals switched from yellow to red faster than state law allows, likely causing hundreds of tickets to be issued incorrectly, some of which have already been tossed out of court.  This is an important reminder to verify the timing of a yellow light should you receive a red light camera ticket in the mail. –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers fight their traffic tickets.

The City of Marysville has joined more than sixty other California cities that have ended red light camera ticketing.

Many cities cite difficulty generating a guaranteed profit, and stable or reduced collision rates at intersections where cameras have been turned off, as reasons for parting ways with red light camera companies like Red Flex.

If you get a red light camera ticket in a city where you think the cameras are turned off, it could be a fake. A courthouse and due date on the ticket are signs that it’s genuine. –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

A San Mateo state senator is making an effort to bring down the fines for “rolling right” red light camera violations to something that low-income people can afford.

According the SF Gate.com, Sen. Jerry Hill thinks that although red light camera have a safety value, the current punishment for the slow, rolling right-hand turns doesn’t fit the crime. He introduced legislation last week that would cut the $500 fine in half.

To avoid a red light camera turning violation in the first place, remember to stop fully behind that limit line before turning right, even when there is no oncoming traffic. – Blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Why red light camera tickets have got motorists confused

Why red light camera tickets have got motorists confused. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Red light camera enforcement varies so greatly from county to county, even city to city, it has many drivers frustrated and confused.

Some cities, like Riverside, have quit. While others, like Beverly Hills, has added more red light cameras. Then there’s the question of whether one can be ignored.

It’s rumored that tickets issued by Los Angeles County can be; but, while it’s a chance some are willing to take, there is no official court policy in writing to rely on, so it’s risky business.

In Orange County for example, a driver’s record will be affected by ignoring a red light ticket, according to NBC Los Angeles, so it is important to know the rules depending on where a ticket is issued. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Look out for new red light camera intersections in the city of Beverly Hills.

According to LA Weekly, the new intersections will include: Crescent Drive/South Santa Monica Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard/ Benedict Canyon Drive, and Sunset Boulevard/Crescent Drive.

Under state law, if you get a ticket within the first 30 days of the cameras being installed, you will only get a warning not an actual ticket. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Short yellow light – enough for judge to dismiss this camera ticket

Red light camera tickets are still a hot topic. They can easily set you back $400 – $600 each, so it’s no wonder so many of them are being challenged.

There are tons of rules saying how the red light camera systems have to be operated and sometimes those rules are broken. Tsk. Tsk. For example, a Riverside Court of Appeal overturned a red light camera ticket earlier this year, after finding state rules regarding the timing of yellow light intervals were not followed (see People v. Rekte).  You may never heard of Trial by Declaration, but it’s one of the California traffic court system’s little known secrets. It’s a great way to challenge your red light camera traffic ticket without ever going to court or hiring a lawyer. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Got an Unfair Red Light Ticket? How to Challenge it

Got an Unfair Red Light Ticket? How to Challenge it – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Traffic lights often change at the worst possible time. You make a split second decision, the safer decision and you make the yellow light.

Unfortunately, the police officer’s eyes for too slow and he didn’t see that you did safely make the yellow light…

Fortunately, there is a way in California to make your traffic ticket and all the headaches that come along with it disappear. There are no downsides to challenging your red light ticket, but there are lots of upsides if you succeed – no fines, no points, and no worries.

It’s a process in the court system called Trial by Declaration. It’s so simple and easy that it is a big surprise that more people are using it.

All it requires is filling out some paperwork and making the right argument to give you best chances of having the court dismiss your unfair red light ticket. TicketBust has been putting together this paperwork for over 100,000 people for almost 10 years. – blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Police Officer Objects to Way Camera Are Used to Ticket Rolling Rights

Police Officer Objects to Way Camera Are Used to Ticket Rolling Rights blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Cities all across the Unites States are quitting use of red light camera. Some states like Maine, Montana, Nevada, South Carolina, and Wisconsin have state-wide bans on red Light Cameras. The City of Los Angeles, San Diego, Hayward, Murrieta, and Redwood City are just a few of the many California cities that have stopped their use of red light cameras just this year alone. Apparently even police officers have had enough.

Officer Sandra St. Germain of Hialeah Police Department in SunSentinel.com article writes:

I had to write after reading about the red-light cameras. I am employed as a police officer and write red-light citations. I was so troubled by this issue I corresponded with state Sen. Thad Altman, who sponsored the legislation that allowed this law.

My problem with the law is the way the cities have prostituted the law and are using it to cite for right turns on red without stopping, which is the vast majority of the tickets being written. Sen. Altman advised me the provision for allowing the citing of right-on-red violations was to allow cities the discretion if the right-on-red without stopping was done in such a way to show the vehicle had failed to yield to a pedestrian or another vehicle.

That is clearly not what they are doing. I have yet to see a camera video that shows a vehicle was cited after causing a person or vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision, failing to yield. The vast majority of the tickets are for right turns on red slowly rolling around the corner.

The red-light camera law is clearly not being used as intended. The cities are shamefully reaching into citizens’ pockets to plug the deficits with this law. The cities are using the law as a “ching-ching” revenue source.

Keep the camera law, but only allow for citing vehicles that only go straight through the red light. I venture to say, you would see how fast the cities drop the cameras if that happened.  –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Red Light Camera Ticket Dropped on Technicality

Red Light Camera Ticket Dropped on Technicality blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

There are many rules and requirements for the operation of a red light camera ticketing system and many times if a rule is not followed or a requirement is not met, it could mean a red light ticket is invalid. This was true for a bay area driver who got a red light camera ticket and got it dismissed on a technicality.

As reported by CBS San Francisco:

A Bay Area woman who got caught running a red light beat her traffic ticket, and her case could mean thousands of other drivers may also be due refunds.

A red light camera recently snapped photos of Keisha Dunlevy allegedly blowing a red light in Newark. But last week, Dunlevy went to traffic court, and argued before a court commissioner that cameras at that intersection were never properly noticed to the public in the newspaper.

Dunlevy’s evidence was a newspaper clipping of a public notice from when the cameras were first put in back in November of 2006.  –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Florida Bill May Increase Red Light Camera Fines But Still Less Than California

Florida Bill May Increase Red Light Camera Fines But Still Less Than California blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Florida Bill if passed could push the cost of a red light camera ticket to over four hundred dollars (reported by wftv.com). Four Hundred dollars may seem steep for a red light camera violation however the fine for a California Red Light Camera Ticket is almost Five Hundred Dollars, and in some case exceeds Five Hundred Dollars. In addition to the fine, a California Red Light Camera Ticket will also add at least one point to a driver’s motor vehicle record. Controversy over Red Light Camera Tickets has many California cities turning off their red light camera systems and many California drivers contesting their tickets.  –  blog submitted by staging-vadusuxe.kinsta.cloud, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
